Samsung is now offering iPhone owners a 30-day trial of the Galaxy S6 Edge+, Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge for the tidy sum of $1.
Samsung requires iPhone users to sign up for the trial using the browser on their phone. After selecting their device and carrier, Samsung will send participants a phone with an activated SIM card and a cable for migrating data from the iPhone to the Galaxy. The $1 charge includes use of the phone for 30 days and a “standard” data plan for the month. Participants will be able to keep their phone numbers.
Phone availability was limited when the promotion initially launched, but Samsung is currently working on this problem.
“In just a few hours, all of the kits earmarked for this program were reserved by customers looking to try our latest and greatest devices. We’re now working quickly on how to make the Ultimate Test Drive available to even more people,” a spokesperson for Samsung said.
The Korean tech company’s most recent Unpacked event featured four products clearly aimed at Apple: its two new Galaxy “phablets” (iPhone 6 Plus), Samsung Pay (Apple Pay) and the Gear S2 smartwatch (Apple Watch).
