In order for you to make your hobby into a full time business, you need to legitimize it. Start bookkeeping so that you can account for your income and expenses. Talk with others who share your hobby. Not all of your friends will share your passion, after all. Once you tire your family and friends with hobby talk, look for other folks with whom to converse. Join forums online or support groups in your area.

Before you decide on a hobby that is right for you, try out a small project first. If you think that you might enjoy quilting, begin with a table runner or small pillow to see if quilting is right for you. If painting is appealing to you, try it out on a small canvass.
